GONE TO CALIFORNIA...

with an aching in my heart.

I'm in San Francisco with Lolly and Pop-Pop.... no boys. I relized that I never posted any pictures of our last trip to Cali. We went to San Diego for Spring Break and had so much fun.
first we went to Birmingham to catch a bird.

then to Houston... Sully jamming to some Dr. Dog...
and Harrison reading a book. Sully and his new friend- Sandy from San Diego.
We survived our first cross-country flight(s) and if you were wondering how the three hour time difference affected the boys-
Harrison at dinner on the first night-and Sully- I never found out why we had a firework show every night, but we did... Day One-
Sea World Harrison and a seastar...

Sully was so excited to get this close to an Octopus...
Shamu! Shamu!
Shamu! Shamu!

Shamu! Shamu! and some rides...

Souviners! Souviners!
Then back to the room for a little swim...
and a trip to the shore to watch the sunset and have some dinner...
Day Two
San Diego Zoo

I think he would crawl in if it were allowed...

And then another sunset dinner and a the customary jumping pictures...
Day Three
Legoland!!
Souviners! Souviners!
Dream come true for Sully...
and Harrison (at the Indiana Jones ride).
more rides...
and photo ops...
Then on the the water park...
it was awesome!

last cool picture before my camera died...

I don't think the boys would enjoy San Francisco as much as San Diego, but I still really miss them. I keep telling myself it's not as hard, hard, hard as it seems. I did get to eat dinner without telling anyone not to play under the table or stick their hand in my drink or try to cut the napkin or try to eat the sugar...

HANGIN' WITH THE GAME AT THE RANCH

thought this guy might try to jump and join us... if mace wasn't such a devoted hunter of all with fur, we would have some goats. heaven knows they would never starve in our backyard!
found a newbie...
and a softy...
if you could read minds, I'm sure you would hear something like- "carrots! carrots! carrots! carrots! you're my new best friend. carrots! carrots! I'm going to step on your head! carrots! carrots! carrots!..."
the deer were little snobs and didn't want our crackers, but still had to lick the salt from Sully's saltine force-feed attacks...

I'm just kidding. Sully loves animals and is very at ease with them. He also has no fear and doesn't discriminate. He even jumped the fence to help out a vulture that couldn't reach a cracker outside his cage. Here is one of the most beautiful creatures he saw because "it looks like a shinny rainbow." and mr. quick-hands himself even got to touch a wild chipmunk!
